Keller Williams with The Travelin’ McCourys

Keller Williams is known as one of the most innovative solo singer/ songwriters of this generation. The Travelin’ McCourys are the latest incarnations of the most awarded band in the history of bluegrass-The Del McCoury Band. What happens when the two join forces? The live stage may never be the same. Brought together by equal parts mutual admiration and the desire to change the musical landscape while staying true to their roots, The Travelin’ McCourys and Keller Williams are a perfect – albeit unexpected- fit. The two have a lot in common after all: their high energy, ever-evolving live shows, their individual playing prowess and their strong and unique song writing skills. Fans are most used to seeing Keller sans a band – just him and a guitar with or without his signature live looping techniques. For Keller Williams with The Travelin’ McCourys, fans will see Keller playing his music with one of the best live bands on the touring circuit.

Their 2012 release of The Bluegrass Ball rated high on the Americana music charts. McCoury fans, used to seeing the boys’ tour with Del in the lead, will now get to see them playing their songs with Keller on guitar. It’s a perfect marriage of instrumental virtuosos, memorable songwriting, infectious musical camaraderie, and undeniable energy. And with both acts known to bring epic and spontaneous live collaborations to theaters and festivals across America – Keller Williams with The Travelin’ McCourys will take this collaborative spirit one step further, promising to bring something fresh and unexpected to the live stage.

Also Featuring:
Dread Clampitt

When Dread Clampitt is rockin’ the Red Bar, they draw all kinds of people as the night goes on, rednecks and hippies are both right at home. Elbow-to-elbow feet moving and heads bobbing, politicians, boat captains, beach bums, celebrities and oystermen too. You can be yourself at a Dread show, it doesn’t matter what you do.

Dread Clampitt cooks up one of a kind homemade music. It’s a tasty sonic gumbo of influences ranging from bluegrass, rock & roll, blues, jazz and Louisiana Bayou funk complete with three part harmonies and pinch of southern humor thrown in for good measure.

Barry Waldrep

Barry Waldrep was a founding member of the Birmingham based bluegrass/jam band Rollin’ in the Hay. Waldrep left the band in May 2009 after a 16 year run to pursue other musical adventures. Immediately after leaving, he started touring and recording with many well known artists incuding The Zac Brown Band, Randy Travis and many others.

In late 2012 he scored a deal with Singular Records in San Francisco, California. The recording process on the first album started in January 2013 and is complete and due for release in the fall of 2013. The first release is a Banjo/Southern Rock project titled “SMOKE FROM THE KITCHEN”. The musicians on the project with Barry include: Oteil Burbridge (Allman Brothers Band), Chuck Leavell (The Rolling Stones), Paul T. Riddle (Marshall Tucker Band), Charlie Starr (Blackberry Smoke), Coy Bowles (Zac Brown Band), Benji Shanks and the legendary David Grisman.

Barry tours playing Mandolin, Banjo and Acoustic Guitar. His shows include a big variety of Bluegrass, Newgrass, Jazzgrass and heavy influences from the Southern Rock World. Touring band members are, Benji Shanks, Jason Bailey, Bryan Hall, Kane Russell and occasionally Oteil Burbridge who also still tours with The Allman Brothers Band.
